Although The Rat Trap was not strictly speaking a Young Theatre show, it was produced in affliation with The Young Theatre (at Beaconsfield) as well as The South Bucks Arts Centre, and involved many members of The Young Theatre both onstage and behind the scenes, so it has - quite rightly - become part of the group's historical past. Staged at The Elgiva Hall, Chesham, Bucks. on 23rd, 24th, 25th & 26th February 1983, it was written by Mark Britton and John Varah (both stalwarts of YT) and all profits from the show were divided between The Imperial Cancer Research Fund and The Curzon Centre (home of The Young Theatre) where the money went towards purchasing new front tabs for the stage.
