The Young Theatre (at Beaconsfield)

Theatre for young people, run by young people

PATRONS: David Edgar, Robert Glenister, Bob Holness

About Us
The Young Theatre (at Beaconsfield) is not just about performers. The group relies very heavily on a team of young theatre technicians and young business people - who may also perform, if they wish.

Our technicians do everything from design to costing to construction/implementation of set, lighting, costume and sound.

The group also needs business minded young people to handle all the group’s marketing activities from the website to press to box office, the group’s finances from planning to cash-flow to accounting, the group’s administration from membership records to minuting meetings to organising social events.

All we ask is an interest in theatre and a commitment to excellence.

Prospective Member Contact Form

If you like what you see you will need to complete a full membership form and read the membership pack. We will either invite you to join immediately or put you on our waiting list.

The Young Theatre (at Beaconsfield) currently costs £60.00 per year to be a member. All productions are funded from box office receipts, and we require all members to sell a designated number of tickets per show. There are a number of payment options, including some full bursaries, if you cannot afford this subscription.

We do ask you to make a commitment to YT, and you will need to balance your school commitments and other extra-curricular commitments with involvement in the group. If you are cast in a production you may be required every Sunday. Technicians and Admin are not required every week; but as needed. Every member is expected to be involved in every main production, if you have limited availability you can act as front-of-house on performance nights, or be part of the build and make teams prior to show week. We try to be as flexible as possible.
